Pres. Monson a Jazz fan!

We were at the Jazz game Friday night and sitting a few rows in front of us was Pres. Monson with his wife on a date. It was so cool to be that close to the prophet especially at an entertainment event like a Jazz game. When he came in at halftime it was amazing the buzz all around us. Everyone pulled out there cell phones taking pictures of him. In fact the lady in the black coat in front called someone and gave the phone to Pres. Monson to say hi, and he did. The guy in the white shirt seemed a little embarrased but Pres Monson would poke him in the back and say something and they both would laugh. He spent most of the game joking with those around him, especially a couple of twenty-something Jazz fans. As he came in he walked passed the Jazz bench and stopped at the Jazz huddle. He then greeted players by smiling and pointing at them in a friendly manner. (We read this in the paper today)... He tapped Jerry on the shoulder and said , 'Good job, coach. You're the best.' And the players and coach are certainly no strangers to President Monson, who smiled and said "Oh, yes," when asked if he was a Jazz fan. "Always have been," he said. And his favorite Jazz player? "I like a lot of them," President Monson admitted. "I like that new man, (Kyle) Korver. I like (Matt) Harpring's gutsy way of playing. He's all right." This wasn't the first Jazz game for President Monson. In fact, his secretary said he attends one or two a month. Usually, however, he watches the game from Jon Huntsman Sr.'s private box suite, so the crowd often doesn't even know he's there. This time, though, he was almost front and center. President Monson and his party sat on the third row. He cheered, clapped, joked with fans and had a fun night at the game even while surprising many there." Pretty cool night.
